Had this vision in 2004.. always kept in my heart
I was a beggar on the street, Jesus picked me up and told me to follow Him. I decided to follow Him and He brought me to a beautiful open field. He pointed to the top of the mountain and asked me if I want to follow Him there. He warned me of the obstacles ahead - dark forests and narrow paths.. I said "Yes" and followed Him. Just before we entered into the dark forest, I got distracted by beautiful flowers along the open field.. I stood there, captivated by the flowers.. Jesus shouted at me, Come on Jack, don't lose sight of me..
So we went into the dark forest and I could not see and walk properly. Jesus held my hand and gave me light to walk though the darkness. He showed me something - people circling round and round the forest. They could not find the way out as it was dark.. Jesus told me to bring them out and walked together with us. As we went deeper, we found more people and brought them out. The journey was tough and full of obstacles. I began to lose faith and complain about the tough journey.
I recalled before we went into the dark forest, I saw some people walking up the mountain top. Their paths were easier and without much obstacles. I asked Jesus why do they have easier paths to the mountain top while I need to go through the tough forests. Then He told me the way to the kingdom of God is through the narrow way. It will make you stronger and withstand difficulties & temptations. The easier way may not be the way to heaven.. So I hung on and kept on walking, bringing more lost people along.. Finally, we reached the mountain top and He showed me the gate of heaven..
Then I woke up from this vision and thank God for this vision in my life. Now I asked myself - at which stage of journey am I at? Am I still at the open field, looking at beautiful girls? Or am I now at the dark forest, bringing lost souls for Christ? Or am I complaining to Christ about the tough Christian walk, compared to the world's luxuries? Time is running out.. We don't have much time left to do what God has called us to do...
