Covenant
Still remember the day I gave my heart to Jesus at my uncle church when I was 14. I felt the presence of God over me, when the pastor gave the altar call to receive Jesus, I stepped up immediately and walked to the front. I felt a undescribable peace in my heart. Tears began to well up my eyes as I said the sinner's prayer and gave my heart to Jesus. It was that moment which I would remember forever for the rest of my life. I heard a voice so audibly as if someone is speaking straight into my ear. "I will never leave you, unless you leave Me." I broke down and cried uncontrollably. Yes, it was Jesus who spoke to me at that time. Then I made a covenant with Jesus that "I will never leave You too.." Those words by Jesus will carry me through tough times and the Great Tribulation during end times..

Transformer Spider
Today I saw new invention by man at Iluma shopping mall.
It also reminded me of Dr Octopus in Spiderman movie..
Actually, it is a new crane bought by the building managment for future maintenance use.
I thought it was a giant mechanical spider which can transform into a robot like those in transformer cartoon.

Amazing.. it can reach to 12m high.. can do bungee jump in the shopping mall.. woohoo..

Time to do maintenance
Like a machine, our body will gradually wear off as time goes by.. We need to exercise in order to maintain our body. Not just to get rid of the visible excess fat or flesh, it is important to get rid of the excess cholestrol in our body, esp the heart. As I am nearing the Big Three very soon, I need to exercise regularly to maintain my previously slim body. I am going to admit after months of self-deceit, that my tummy is getting bigger by the week.. and I am getting fat! I am going to start jogging, play soccer, do whatever I can to maintain my body.. Indeed, our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Physical exercise is just as important as daily quiet time! (spiritual exercise)

Life is like a vapour
"For what is your life? It is even a vapour that appears for a little time and then vanishes away." James 4:14
Time is passing by so quickly.. lets live our lives for Christ before He comes back again.
"In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and we will be changed." 1 Cor 15:52

Keep serving
Today was a tiring but fulfilling day.. Went to volunteer to serve in children church! woo.. was really happy to serve the kids again.. When I reached there, I was assigned to pack the presents.. haha.. it was fun.. made some new friends too.. xiaowei was there.. she even taught me to make those toy balloons.. din really learn as I was assigned to another job.. to carry the presents to the transport area. So I put the presents on the allocated spot and help to look after it until the children came out.. Havoc AGAIN.. kids running around.. playing catching.. fighting with one another.. children getting lost.. nevertheless, managed to put the children in order.
As the children boarded the bus back home, suddenly I saw one familiar boy.. managed to recall his name gerald. I used to visit him in Bedok when he was around five yrs old, back then, he was a monster, and often gave me problems. Initially, he could not recognise me, but when I told him I am Teacher Jack.. he remembered and say hi to me.. he even told me where did i go and why I din visit him? Before he left, he waved goodbye to me.. it left me a good feeling.. old times of my service in children church flashed through my mind.. I suddenly missed my bedok kids again.. I kissed goodbye to them and waved happily back to them. Then I looked at my watch.. its 330pm! I am going to be late for my ministry visitation..
I quickly went over the market to buy bread and biscuits for my First Hand ministry patients and took a cab down for visitation.. When I reached there, I chatted with 2 of the patients.. one of them had stopped the medication cos he could not afford the cost. I told him we will try to help him. Because of his sickness, he has grown thinner and looked frail.. but he remain positive and showed me his room, where he prayed to Jesus. Though he may be suffering in this lifetime, I believe it is our eternity with Jesus that counts! Our lifetime on earth is just a small portion in eternity, where we will live forever and ever with our Lord Jesus.
I treasured every moment I spent my time with these patients, cos anytime they may just pass away, and I can be there for them always.. As I left the place, I prayed that God will touch all these patients, that they will eventually give their lives to Jesus.. I thank God again for this wonderful day, that it is indeed a priviledge to serve our Lord Jesus, no matter what circumstances we may face! Keep serving!

Rebuke the devourer
Recently, I played soccer with m JC friends. Dunno why I play keeper and wear watch at the same time.. I made a great save from John, the ball flew out for a corner, but my watch flew into the net.. My heart was cut into half when I saw my watch badly smashed onto the ground.
Oh dear.. my favourite casio watch.. the front glass was cracked and my metal scrap was broken into pieces.. I quickly went to the City Chain store in city hall for repair, but the sales lady told me any repair must be done at casio main service centre at Henderson Road. So I went over and gave the "corpse" watch to the technician. I was thinking.. no hope already.. To my surprise, the technician told me no problem and can be repaired within 7-10 days.
After less than 5 days, the technician called me and told me to collect the "new" watch. Woo.. it is as good as the new one.. The repair costs only $20, really happy cos I was thinking of buying new watch (over $100) to replace it.. As building fund still going on, I wanted to save up and did not want to buy a new one.. Suddenly, God reminded of the verse in Malachi 3:11
"And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field". I really believe as you sow in God kingdom, He will protect your finances and rebuke the devil for your sake! Praise the LORD!

Driven by eternity
I read the first chapter of the book "Driven by eternity" by John Bevere and already feel that God is speaking to me through this book! As the end times are coming, we need to give an account of our lives when we meet Jesus and be serious in our walk with God.. Hope I will have great revelations after reading the whole book!

Gifts and Talents
This week cellgroup talk about using our gifts and talents for the glory of God. Been thinking what are my gifts and talents in my life..
1) Arts and Crafts - Thank God for using my gifts to do birthday cards & gifts for my cellgroup (though we are buying bday cards now) I love to design cards and make craft work to bless people.. recently, realise my chinese calligraphy talents can be used for the glory of God.. write bible verses in chinese! Praise God...

People call me Jack Fake.. cos i can do 3 fake moves in one second.. Can use my soccer talents to reach out to youths and encourage those who are injured before to overcome fear and play again! testimony time!
3) KTV - used to be hopeless in singing.. out of tune, out of breath & out of my sight (leave the ktv room at once!) but thank God, manage to overcome my weakness and can sing better & in fact love to sing karaoke now.. Can use this to organise social gatherings to know more friends and recently, my ministry is bringing patients out to ktv.. woohoo.. can join in.. sing my fav song.."Forever Love and Mr Lonely..." i love to rap too..
4) Acting - love to act since i acted in my pri sch musical play. Thank God for realising my dream.. me n justin used to joke that i will act in Hollywood.. (old church Hollywood).. Praise God for answering my prayers.. I acted twice as roman soldier in easter 06 & 08.. use my talents to lead people to Christ during easter..
5) Humour - Used to be a quiet and isolated guy.. but woo.. God changed me.. I am now a super bo liao and super lame guy.. loves to crack jokes to make people laugh.. laughter opens one's heart! my secret weapon.. use this God-given gift to bring joy to my family, friends and the whole world.. Christians are fun-loving people..
Thank God for all these gifts and talents.. like what we saw in Pastor Kong video in New Life Church Taipei.. we can use our talents as a ministry and most impt, to reach out to people and bring them to Christ.. Yes.. Holy Spirit.. give us creative ideas for evangelism and to be salt and light in marketplace.. keep thinking.. keep flowing.. for the GLORY OF GOD!

The Wrestler

Watched the movie "The Wrestler" last saturday. I thought the show was really good.. Being a WWE wrestling fan since young, I can understand the pain and stress they are going through.. They have to act like nothing happened, even though they are carrying serious injuries.. The show has to go on.. Sometimes they have to act as the bad guy and make everyone hate him. Its part of their job, their profession.
Some of them have to even retire early if unfortunate things happen like permanent disability or serious health problem as in the case of this show. I almost teared towards the end, when Mickey Rourke (the main actor) knew that he had heart problem and cant wrestle anymore, he kept on wrestling until his heart failed in the end. From now on, everytime I watch a WWE wrestling match, I will sympathize with the wrestlers, that they have to entertain the crowd with all their heart and even endure pain and agony to finish the match.. Kudos to them!
